Less than six months after Martin
Health System opened the doors
of Tradition Medical Center in
December 2013, the 90-bed acute-
care hospital received recognition
for an environmentally friendly
building with the LEED (Leadership
in Energy and Environmental
Design) gold certification. LEED is
a third-party certification program
and the nationally accepted bench-
mark for the design, construction
and operation of high-performance,
environmentally friendly buildings.
“We designed Tradition Medical
Center to provide the most ef-
ficient, effective and comfortable
care possible to patients and their
families, while also recognizing the
value of creating an environmen-
tally and economically sustainable
facility that would have a positive
impact on the communities we
serve,” says Mark Robitaille, presi-
dent and chief executive officer of
Martin Health.
