Wael Barsoum, MD, is CEO and President of Cleveland Clinic Florida. ON JAN. 1, 2019, Martin Health System officially became a full member of the Cleveland Clinic health system, along with Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach. Both Martin Health and Indian River are the first hospitals to join the Cleveland Clinic Florida region. “These are well-respected hospi- tals that have a long history of taking great care of their communities. We are very proud they are now part of Cleveland Clinic’s health system,” said Tom Mihaljevic, MD, CEO and President of Cleveland Clinic. “As health care continues to evolve, this integration will strengthen our ability to deliver on our mission and provide the best care to our patients together.” Hospital leaders from all three organizations came together on Jan. 9 to welcome and meet with caregivers and share the organiza- tion’s vision. The new name and brand for Martin Health System was also announced. The three hospitals within the Martin Health System are now collectively known as Cleveland Clinic Martin Health. Individually, they are: • Cleveland Clinic Martin North Hospital (formerly Martin Medical Center in Stuart). • Cleveland Clinic Martin South Hospital (formerly Martin Hospital South in Stuart). • Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hos- pital (formerly Tradition Medical Center). The Cleveland Clinic Florida region is led by Wael Barsoum, MD, who is CEO and President. Robert L. Lord Jr. will continue to serve as Cleveland Clinic Martin Health President. Gregory Rosencrance, MD, will serve as president of Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital. “We are honored to work with both Martin Health and Indian River,” Dr. Barsoum said. “Our goal is to provide exceptional care for residents on the Treasure Coast and southeast Florida region.
